While, the hills in North India are experiencing snow these days, the chilly winter weather has almost gripped the plains of Northwest India. This has resulted in the emergence of the winter chill in the northern plains of Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan, which was absent uptill now.
Early morning fog is one of the signs that prove, that the much-awaited winter season has now arrived. Most parts of North India continue to witness foggy mornings. Dense to very dense fog has continued to grip most parts of Northwest Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Assam, Meghalaya, and Tripura on early Saturday morning.

While, on the other hand, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Delhi, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur observed a moderate foggy morning. Moreover, Churu in Rajasthan recorded the lowest visibility of about 25 meters, followed by Silchar, Kailashahar, and Tezpur with the visibility levels below 50 meters each.
On the other hand, Sri Ganganagar, Hisar, Ambala, Agartala, Guwahati, North Lakhimpur and Dibrugarh recorded the visibility levels at 200 meters.

For the next 24 hours, moderate fog is expected to occur at many places over parts of Punjab, Haryana, plains of Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. Isolated stations of Northeast India such as Imphal, Kailashahr, Itanagar, Silchar, Guwahati, North Lakhimpur, Agartala, and Dibrugarh may also record moderate fog.
However, the plains of North India are likely to witness some improvement in weather conditions, as the sky seems to be clear at present.
