As the month of February is coming to an end, the City of Joy has seen a gradual increase in temperature figures. At present the maximum temperatures is around 31-32°C. These figures are likely to go up as a marginal rise in temperatures is expected over the region.

In the past few days, many areas of Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata and coastal Odisha are witnessing foggy mornings.

The reason for such weather condition is an anti-cyclone which is developing over north central Bay of Bengal. The presence of this system over the area means, humid winds from southwest direction will reach Coastal Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal. Due to these warm and humid winds, moisture levels will increase over these reasons.

According to Skymet Weather, shallow to moderate fog over many parts of Coastal Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal is expected. This situation may continue for another 2-3 days.

This fog doesn’t persist for longer duration. The visibility improves significantly with the progress of the day. By 10 in the morning, temperatures starts easing and fog disappears. This may be the early morning phenomenon.
