People in Delhi were relieved from witnessing dense foggy mornings since past few days and the trail continued over the national capital and adjoining regions as well. Fog in Delhi and adjoining regions remained absent from quite a few days now.
Several other northern parts of the country including the east Uttar Pradesh were also under the influence of dense fog. Places like Amritsar and Varanasi witnessed foggy morning though sparing Delhi.
The national capital and its nearby regions were freed from witnessing foggy morning. Visibility in Amritsar was recorded at 200 meters while Delhi recorded a visibility of 400 meters. Visibility in east Uttar Pradesh including Varanasi also recorded at 800 meters while Gorakhpur recorded a visibility of 500 meters.

Moreover, the fog has also led to the delay in 11 flights thereby canceling 5 flights in total from the Indira Gandhi Airport, Delhi. To track the flight status, click here
As per Skymet Weather, the reason for such foggy conditions is the scattered blowing of northwesterly winds from East to Northwest direction. Moreover, the same is responsible for not helping the fog to clear up speedily.
However, for another 2 days, similar weather conditions are expected to continue over the northern plains of the country. Thereafter, due to a Western Disturbance which is expected to approach the area and may lead to dense fog again engulfing North India.
