With major improvement as observed, fog spared most parts of Northwest India today morning. In fact, Ambala was the only city to record very dense fog with 25-metre of visibility level.

However, other than this, cities like Delhi and Chandigarh reported fair visibility of 800 meters and 100 meters respectively. Meanwhile, Agra observed shallow fog with 700-meter visibility, followed by Amritsar in Punjab that recorded 1500-meter visibility level.

Now, we are expecting the layer of fog to weaken over most of the places barring few isolated places which would still continue to record dense fog.

According to Skymet Weather, a strong Western Disturbance is over Western Himalayas and has induced a Cyclonic Circulation over Central Pakistan and adjoining Northwest Rajasthan.

In wake of these weather systems, cloud cover will increase over entire Northwest India. As a result of increase in cloud cover, Northwest India would start getting rains today evening onward.

These rains will flush out the layer of dense fog. As a result, fog will follow a decreasing trend and soon will make an exit from entire Northwest India by the end of February.
