Dense to very dense fog continues to engulf most parts of northwestern plains on Friday morning. Places like Ambala, Shriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Pathankot, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Muradabad, Agra reported visibility  less than 50 meters, nearly to nil at some places.

National capital Delhi along with adjoining parts of Gurugram, Faridabad and Noida too reported very dense fog, with visibility dropping to nil during the early morning hours. In wake of this, several flights were delayed or rescheduled, while some trains were running behind the schedule.

Meanwhile, other areas saw moderate to thick fog. However, impact of fog was less in comparison to Thursday. Clearance was much earlier than the last day, wherein fog cover was almost there till afternoon hours.

According to Skymet Weather,  weather conditions remain conducive for few more foggy mornings. The required factors like presence of humidity, low minimum temperatures and light winds are all present. With this, dense to very dense fog would continue to persist for at least next two days.

As per weathermen, a fresh Western Disturbance has started affecting the hills of North India. In addition to this, a cyclonic circulation would be soon coming over Rajasthan and adjoining areas. With this, wind pattern would change, leading to clouding. Due to this, we can expect fast clearance in the fog during the next couple of days.
