The Western Disturbance which was over eastern parts of Jammu and Kashmir has moved away eastwards. In the wake of this, northerly winds that are relatively cool in nature have started blowing over Delhi and NCR.
So, due to availability of local moisture, shallow to moderate fog occurred and is anticipated to persist during the morning hours over the region for the next 48 hours.
Thereafter, weathermen are of the view that the fog layer will dissipate, as another fresh Western Disturbance will approach the Western Himalayas.
Thus, there would be slight increase in the day temperatures, with clear sky conditions and light winds.
Maximum temperatures will be settling in the range of 27 to 28°C, while minimums will range between 11 and 13°C.
As on February 18, the Safdarjung Observatory recorded a maximum of 26.4°C and a minimum of 12.5°C; both are two degrees above normal.
Similarly, Palam observatory registered a maximum of 26.3°C and a minimum of 12.7°C, both are two degrees above normal.
Accordingly, days would remain comfortable, with bright sunshine, while nights are expected to be very cool. For at least a week, dry weather will persist over the region.
