Fog in North India continues to disrupt normal life as air, rail and road movement has been affected for the fourth consecutive day. Today, fog has been extensive covering even parts of Rajasthan along with Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Delhi is showing some improvement but the envelop of thick fog still persists in the fringes including Vikas Puri, Noida, and Faridabad. Stronger easterly winds are expected to bring some improvement in the entire region and fog in Delhi will now become shallow to moderate.
Delhi
Though Delhi/NCR continued to reel under foggy weather, the condition has improved at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The lowest visibility reported today morning at Palam was 300 meters but delays and cancellations continue to affect commuters. Till 12 p.m. about 15 flights have been cancelled including 6 to Amritsar and 5 to Chandigarh.
Rail traffic has received a blow as well, especially the trains running on the northern route. Some important trains that have been reported to be delayed on this route are Magadh Express, Sapt Kranti Express, Jammu Tavi Express, Vikramshila Express and Northeast Express.

Amritsar
Amritsar is still engulfed in dense fog and visibility has been nil since two days now. 4 flights have been cancelled till 8.30 p.m. today.
Lucknow
The Lucknow-New Delhi rail route has been majorly affected by dense fog. The railway authorities are planning to cancel the Swarn Shatabdi, which has been running late, to get it back on schedule. A lot of other trains from Kanpur, Varanasi, Allahabad and Gorakhpur have also been running late. Visibility reported today at Lucknow has been 300 meters.
