After witnessing dense fog for four consecutive days, Delhi saw the weather clear up to a large extent today and life return to normal. The general visibility improved to 400 meters in the morning as compared to about 100 meters in the previous days, due to fog in Delhi. However, there were some pockets like Palam that witnessed dense fog at around 8.30 am. The runway visibility during this time at the Palam airport dropped to 100 meters causing some inconvenience in flight operations. But largely, the weather in the city was clear and commuting wasn’t difficult.

Clear conditions in the city are likely to prevail for the next 48 hours but fog in Delhi will return Monday onwards due to an expected Western Disturbance on Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, fog in North India has also got better with cities like Allahabad, Lucknow, Patna, Gaya, Jaipur, Agra, Gwalior and Amritsar witnessing almost clear weather. The general visibility in these places during the morning hours was 400 meters which improved gradually. Though, some pockets in the region like Jammu, Chandigarh and Gorakhpur did observe thick fog with visibility dropping to nil.
