Fog in Delhi affects air operations

Moderate fog has been reported in most parts of Delhi today including Faridabad, Laxmi Nagar and Model Town. The visibility in these places has been reported to be around 200-500 meters. There were other pockets like Palam where dense fog was observed and visibility dropped to nil, severely affecting air operations. Over 7 flights have been reported to be delayed till 7 a.m.

Meanwhile, fog in North India has also been confined to pockets. Uttar Pradesh has been the worst affected with places like Agra and Gorakhpur observing very poor visibility. Varanasi has been experiencing rain due to which there have been no reports of fog in the city. However, Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh saw visibility drop to zero due to dense fog. Other important cities in the north including Amritsar, Chandigarh and Jammu largely remained unaffected by fog. The visibility in these places was reported to be over 800 meters.
