After the passage of Cyclonic Storm Phethai, northwesterly winds that are cool and dry in nature are blowing over the eastern states of Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
We have also observed that during the last 48 hours, night temperatures over many places of these states have dropped significantly especially over Bihar.
In fact, most of the places are observing temperatures below normal by 3˚C to 4˚C, expect few pockets of North Bihar and West Bengal, as due to easterlies the temperatures are still on the higher side.
Let us have look at the minimum temperatures over few places of Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal settling below 10˚C:
Now, we expect moderate northwesterly winds to blow over most parts of East India and even become north/northwesterly over Gangetic West Bengal.
Moreover, in wake of cool winds, we expect night temperatures to drop. Day temperatures will also drop further. During the morning hours, we expect cool weather to prevail over all the three states.
Talking about fog, during the last 24 hours, Patna in Bihar recorded 500-meter visibility level in wake of moderate fog. Further also, we expect light to moderate fog over Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal with chances of dense fog in few pockets of Bihar.
