North and East India continue to witness fog free mornings for the second consecutive day. On Wednesday morning, most of the places reported good visibility conditions barring isolated pockets that witnessed shallow fog due to localised factors.
Amritsar, Varanasi, Gaya, Patna, and Gorakhpur that has been reeling under dense to very dense fog observed clear sky today. Delhi-NCR also reported similar conditions with Palam Observatory witnessing the lowest visibility of 800 meters.
As reiterated by Skymet Weather, absence of fog can be attributed to the change of the wind pattern from warm and humid easterlies to dry and cold northwesterly. These winds are blowing across northwestern plains and are also reaching up to East India.
As a result, levels of humidity have come down significantly and wind speed has also increased marginally. All these factors have kept the fog at bay from entire North and East India.
Similar weather conditions will prevail and thus we can expect fog free morning for at least next two days.
Thereafter, another active Western Disturbance is likely to affect Jammu and Kashmir, which will once again change the wind pattern. And, we expect moderate to dense fog to make comeback over northwestern plains by January 13.
