Southwest Monsoon 2018 has made its onset over many areas of Gujarat due to which rainfall intensity has also witnessed a massive increase over the southern parts of the state in the last 24 to 36 hours. In fact, the intensity of rains witnessed a rise today to an extent wherein flooding rains were witnessed over the parts of the state.
Valsad has been one such city which has seen Godzilla rains today. In the last 9 hours from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm today, Valsad has recorded a whopping 256 mm of rainfall. Moreover, in just about four hours of time, Valsad had recorded a massive 210 mm of rains.

These flooding rains have also caused waterlogging in many areas which has wreaked havoc over normal life. Over 130 mm of rainfall has been recorded in talukas of Vapi, Pardi and Dharmapur as well during the same time frame.
Flooding has also been reported in parts of Tower, Chipwad, Mograwadi, Auranga bridge as well as Tithal road. Parts of Chikhli and Khergam have also witnessed 128mm and 95mm of rains during the same time frame.
Mumbai-Ahmedabad also bore the major brunt as a landslide was reported near Sanjan and Bhilad.
