This is not a perfect time to visit the hills of North India that have been experiencing flooding rains for the last many days now. In fact, the month of June ended giving heavy to extremely heavy rains over the hills of Jammu & Kashmir, that triggered floods in parts of Srinagar.

As per Skymet Weather, the Western Disturbance in combination with the Axis of Monsoon trough is to blame to for giving such heavy Monsoonal rains over all the three hill states of North India.

On the last day too, the Axis of Monsoon trough has given moderate to heavy rains over many parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In addition to this, the hills of Jammu & Kashmir also recorded scattered Monsoon showers.

As per Skymet Weather, at present, the Axis of Monsoon trough is running close to the foothills of Himalayas. In the wake of this, we expect moderate to heavy rains to continue over parts of Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh for another 24 hours, thereafter the intensity of rains would reduce gradually.

Though Jammu & Kashmir would receive moderate showers with one or two heavy spells, the intensity would remain less. Moreover, three-digit rains can also be anticipated over parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand that may further aggravate the situation of already flooded regions. One or two incidents of cloudburst and landslides are also a chance and hence people are advised to stay cautious.
