In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Goalpara recorded 74 mm of rain, followed by Pasighat 58.8 mm, Mazbat 53.6 mm, Tezpur 4.3 mm, Itanagar 14 mm, Tawang 5 mm, Dhubri 11.8 mm, Guwahati 15. 5 mm, Cherrapunji 19.1 mm.
Now further also we expect light to moderate rains with few heavy spells to occur over the northeastern states along with Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

Northeastern states of the country have been receiving good rainfall activities since last many days. In fact, due to heavy rainfall activity, Assam, Tripura and Manipur have been suffering from floods. Relief camps have been set up in these areas to provide people with help. More than lakhs of people have been trapped due to the floods.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Passighat recorded 35.5 mm of rain, followed by Silchar 31.3 mm, Mazbat 22.8 mm, North Lakhimpur 25.9 mm, Dhubri 16.8 mm, Imphal 10.2 mm, Itanagar 10.4 mm, Tawang 4 mm, Dibrugarh 5.2 mm, Goalpara 15.6 mm, Golaghat 14.8 mm, Guwahati 6.8 mm, Jorhat 5.8 mm, Lumding 4 mm, Cherrapunji 6.8 mm, Shillong 4.6 mm, Aizwal 3.2 mm, Lengpui 12 mm, Kohima 3.2 mm.
These rains can be attributed to the Western Disturbance which is seen moving across the Tibet region and its associated cyclonic circulation which is persisting over northern parts of Bihar and central parts of Assam.
Along with this, direct incursion of warm and moist winds is affecting from Bay of Bengal, due to southwest monsoon currents.
However, in presence of all these systems, moderate rain and thundershowers with few heavy spells are expected at many places over entire Northeast India, parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim region.
Furthermore, these weather conditions are expected to continue during the next two to three days.
