A Western Disturbance is all set to affect the states of North India starting October 22. This system is the first strong Western Disturbance of the season to have an effect over the hilly regions as well as the plains of North India.
The system will start affecting the hilly state of Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in rain and even snow in the higher reaches of the state. Thereafter, other states in the hills including Himachal Pradesh as well as Uttarakhand will also come under the radar of the system and see some rain and snow in the higher regions.
Moreover, the system will also result in some rains and thundershowers over the plains including North Rajasthan, Punjab, parts of Haryana. Delhi may see cloudy skies with see some light rainfall activity around October 24. Isolated rains may be seen over western parts of
Heavy rains will particularly be seen over Jammu and Kashmir, wherein even the foothills including Jammu, Tamba, Kathua, Udhampur, Katra, Vaishno Devi will see heavy showers. Good showers may be seen in Himachal Pradesh whereas rains will be not as heavy over Uttarakhand.
Good rains may be seen in Amritsar, Fazilka, TaranTarn, Jalandhar, Pathankot, Ludhiana, Patiala, Chandigarh, Pathankot and Chandigarh. Light showers may be seen over Ambala, Hisar, Rohtak, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Kaithal, Rewari.
Whenever it rains over the hills, the temperatures tend to drop. Starting October 25, weather will clear up and temperatures will start to see a dip in the hills and the plains of North India resulting in that slight wintry chill.
