Shimla received its first snowfall of the season on Sunday. This triggered a wave of joy among a large number of tourists to celebrate Christmas and New Year.
Light snowfall started around 9.15 pm in Mall Road, Jakhu, Chhota Shimla and other areas of the city.
According to Meteorologists at Skymet, there are chances of rain and snowfall in different places of Himachal Pradesh on Monday.
Keylong, Kalpa, Manali, and many other places in the state shivered at sub-zero temperatures.
Keylong, the administrative centre of Lahaul-Spiti, was the coldest place in the state with a temperature of -11.6 °C.
Kalpa in Kinnaur district and Manali in Kullu district recorded minimum temperatures of 3.4 and 0.6 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperatures reached -2, -1.6, -1.2 and -0.5 ° C in Mandi, Bhuntar, Sundernagar and Solan.
Dalhousie and Kufri recorded temperatures of 2.9 and 3.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
Shimla recorded a minimum temperature of -4.7 degrees Celsius.
Kangra recorded the highest temperature in the state at 19.4 degrees Celsius.
Rain and snowfall are expected at different places in the state on Monday.
