Dry weather conditions have become a common feature in Pune for quite some time now. The city has remained as dry as a bone during the last few weeks. In fact, rain gods have remained far away from the educational hub of Maharashtra.
Not only this, temperatures have also been running well above the normal levels. At present, the maximum temperature is settling at a whopping 39.9 degrees which happens to be at least two degrees above the normal levels.
However, good news is in store for Punekars as the first Pre-Monsoon activity is expected to finally commence after a long dry period. While these activities will not be intense in nature, the residents will heave in a sigh of relief.
Currently, a trough is extending from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to South India across Madhya Maharashtra. Gradually, this trough is expected to become more marked over Madhya Maharashtra along with Konkan and Goa.
The weather activity is likely to commence today onward itself. In fact, isolated thunderclouds are expected to develop during the evening hours. Thereafter, isolated thundershowers in Pune are expected both tomorrow and day after tomorrow.
There will be marginal relief in terms of temperatures and they may crawl back to normal in the coming days. However, the possibility of significant relief is not too likely too soon.
