600X315After the deadly cyclone Roanu tormented Sri Lanka by causing floods and landslides, gave unexpected torrential Chennai rains and battered the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh in India, it is rapidly heading towards Bangladesh. Moreover, it is likely to give unprecedented heavy rain in Northeast India affecting Tripura, Mizoram, and Meghalaya.

It is presently centered at Latitude 20.3°N and Longitude 88.2°E, around 160 km east of Paradip in Odisha and 440 km southwest of Chittagong, Bangladesh.

The weather system was moving at a speed of 25 kmph, along and off the North Andhra Pradesh and Odisha Coast on Friday giving signs of strengthening into a severe cyclonic storm.
