Amidst complaints of technical hitches, the fifth phase of Uttar Pradesh Election is underway across 11 districts of the state. Until 11 AM, Uttar Pradesh witnessed close to 25% voter turnout.

The 11 districts where voting is going on include Balrampur, Gonda, Faizabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Bahraich, Shravasti, Siddharth Nagar, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Amethi, and Sultanpur.

The fifth phase of election started at around 7 in the morning which is expected to continue until 5 in the evening. A total of 618 candidates out of which 45 are women candidates are battling for 51 assembly constituencies across these districts.

Among these 51 constituencies, Amethi is one interesting seat where both the wives of Raja Sanjay Singh, Amita Singh from Congress and Garima Singh from Bhartiya Janta Party are facing off each other.

In view of the election, it seems that the weather is also urging people to come out of their homes and vote.

As per Skymet Weather, temperatures across most of these districts are close to normal. The weather across most of these districts is bright and sunny but the cool winds penetrating from the North and northwest is giving a sigh of relief to the voters standing in long ques.

Hence, due to favorable weather conditions, a high voter turnout is what is expected in Uttar Pradesh this year.
