A feeble Western Disturbance has been affecting North India, giving isolated rain and snow in higher reaches, while scattered rain in the lower regions. According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the system is currently moving across Jammu and Kashmir and is moving in east direction.
In a span of last 24 hours till 8:30 am on Sunday, Batote in Jammu and Kashmir recorded 1.2 mm of rain, followed by Katra 0.4 mm and traces of rain at Srinagar and Bhaderwah. Similarly, Kalpa in Himachal Pradesh received 2 mm of rain and traces of rain in Keylong.
As per the latest forecast by Skymet, the system will be having major impact during the next 24 hours, causing light to moderate rain over the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
An induced cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan and West Rajasthan is also moving eastwards. Both the systems together will cause weather activity over plains of Northwest India by Monday.
Isolated duststorms and thundershowers along with squally winds are expected to lash parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Northwest Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh.
In wake of the systems, maximum temperature across the region has registered a marginal drop, however, there will be no respite from the scorching heat.
Meanwhile, rising minimum temperatures will also add to the discomfort.
