Updated on February 17, 2016 01:37 PM (IST): MP, UP and Jharkhand get good showers
As reiterated by Skymet Weather, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and East Uttar Pradesh continued to witness rain activity during last 24 hours as well.
Neighbouring state of Jharkhand has also recorded rain during this time period.
As per Skymet Weather, rain activity has increased both in terms of intensity and spread on Tuesday.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Ranchi recorded 13 mm of rain, Pendra 2 mm, Varanasi 2 mm, Bokaro 0.6 mm and Fursatganj 0.3 mm.
However, rain activity is likely to vacate the region now onwards. The confluence zone that has been responsible for the wet spell, will now shift westwards and so does the rain belt.
As a result, the minimum temperatures that have been settling well above normal by 4-6 degrees will gradually start crawling back to the normal. While, maximum temperatures will continue to settle in early 30s.
Updated on February 16, 2016 01:37 PM (IST): Fairly widespread rain returns to UP, MP and Chhattisgarh
After remaining dry for last many days, rains have made a comeback over parts of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The rainy spell was fairly widespread and covered several places of the above-mentioned states.
However, the intensity of rain and spread was more over parts of south and east Uttar Pradesh and rain was scattered over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Chhattisgarh.
This fresh spell of rain activity can be attributed to a confluence zone that can be seen extending from Jharkhand up to Central Madhya Pradesh across Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh.
The presence of the weather system will continue to give rain for another 24 hours over East Uttar Pradesh and parts of eastern and northern Madhya Pradesh.
Thereafter, the confluence zone will shift westwards and rain activity will subside over the region. With this, rain belt will also shift towards Southeast Rajasthan and adjoining North Madhya Pradesh.
Let us have a look at the rainfall figures recorded across the region in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday.
