Normally by this time, regions such as Vidarbha, South Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Gujarat, South Rajasthan and parts of Madhya Pradesh start experiencing temperatures in the higher 30s. In fact, many stations touch 40°C mark as well.

However, heatwave has arrived a bit early this season. As per Skymet Weather, heatwave conditions are prevailing are already prevailing over parts of Gujarat for the last 48 hours.

Meanwhile, districts of Telangana, South Rajasthan, and Vidarbha may not be reeling under heatwave but the maximum temperatures are settling between 38°C and 39°C. According to weathermen, these temperatures are giving the feel of heatwave like conditions.

Further, we do not expect any relief from scorching days ahead. In fact, heatwave would increase its ambit and would cover few parts of Telangana and Vidarbha region during the next three to four days.

The steep rise in mercury can be attributed to the absence of weather activity over these areas. Continuous dry spell along with bright sunshine resulted in raising the temperatures.

It is anticipated that the temperatures would continue to reach 38°C to 40 °C over many parts of Central India in the coming days also. Extremely hot and uneasy weather is likely to prevail with temperatures settling above normal by 3°C to 4°C.

However, there is huge variation between the minimum and maximum temperatures. The minimum temperatures are expected to settle near normal or marginally below normal over central parts of the country.
