Heavy to very heavy rains are all set to make an appearance over many parts of Tamil Nadu. In view of the system in the Bay of Bengal which has already become a depression, is likely to become strong turning into a storm and moving westward.
Weather activity will begin over Tamil Nadu on December 7, i.e. tomorrow. This is because the frontline of the system will come in the proximity of the coastline much before the actual system does.
On December 8, the system will reach the proximity of coastline, thus, Chennai, Puducherry, Cuddalore, Tondi, Pamban and adjoining areas will see heavy to extremely heavy rains.
On December 9, the rains will reduce slightly becoming very heavy to very heavy. On December 10, rains may become moderate to heavy and thereafter will begin to reduce.
Residents should remain on alert as the system will result in squally winds along with heavy rains which are a deadly combination.
