As fog, coupled with rain, lashed parts of Madhya Pradesh in last few days, Bhopal and Indore were the key areas that remained engulfed in the firm grip of cold and cloudy days. While maximum temperatures dropped below normal by 8 degrees in these parts of Madhya Pradesh in past few days, sunshine also evaded. However, sun has come out in Bhopal today morning but with marginal decrease in the minimum temperatures, colder nights along with cold days are expected to persist for two more days.
Bhopal and Indore have been experiencing inclement weather conditions for the month of December and January on multiple counts. Very dense fog, rainy days and extremely cold days are some of the features that rarely make their presence felt in these parts of the country during this time of the year. While fog usually appears for less than a day, it lasted for 3 days in both Bhopal and Indore. In fact, Bhopal and Indore witnessed very dense fog where visibility reduced to 50 meters on several occasions.
Where on one hand poor visibility led to flight cancellations and train delays, the winter chill, on the other hand, left the residents shivering.
