The state of Gujarat is one of the hottest pockets until the time Nonsoon makes an onset. While eastern regions including Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha as well as Jharkhand also see intense heat, with the arrival of Monsoon current, which is likely over Northeast India anytime soon, it takes the sting out of the heat over East India.
However, Gujarat sees Monsoon after June 15 and the heat continues. Due to Cyclone Biparjoy is pushing southwesterly moist winds towards entire Gujarat region, which has mitigated the heat extent. While temperatures are around 40 degrees, at this time, maximums are in the mid 40s, close to 45 degrees.
Similar pattern is expected to continue over Gujarat region for at least the next one week as the Cyclone is in the sea and is moving northward, which will continue pushing moist winds. Later on, as the storm moves slightly relatively closer to the region, which is after five to six days, some showers may be seen over the state of Gujarat.
