The Northeastern region of the country is one of the rainiest pockets in the country. In fact, during the Southwest Monsoon season, the region does see very good rains on some occasions.

In fact, the last 24 hours have also been rainy for the northeastern region of the country.
In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Kohima saw a whopping 55 mm of rains, Pasighat 61 mm, Dibrugarh 51 mm. Moreover, three-digit rains were also seen over Jorhat which recorded 103 mm of rains. Some parts of Sikkim and Sub Himalayan West Bengal also saw good rains wherein Cooch Behar saw 73 mm of rains, Siliguri 48 mm.
Due to the cyclonic circulation over Assam region, heavy rains are expected to occur over upper Assam, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh.
Meanwhile, Sub Himalayan West Bengal Sikkim will see rains in association with the cyclonic circulation over Bihar and adjoining areas in the mid-levels. In fact, heavy to very heavy rains will be seen over Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and adjoining lower Assam.
Meanwhile, Tripura, Manipur, and Mizoram will settle with light to moderate rains only and heavy rains will be occurring over the aforementioned areas only.
Weather Alert - Intermittent spells of rain and thundershowerswiths with moderate lightning are expected over Dimapur, Kiphire, Kohima, Longleng, Mokokchung, Mon, Peren, Phek, Tuensang, Wokha and Zunheboto the districts of Nagaland during next 24 hours.
