Delhi weather has remained quite hot for the past few days. In fact, the mercury levels have been soaring to quite an extent and have been settling above the normal levels. Yesterday also, the maximum temperatures were soaring to quite an extent.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature at Palam settled at a whopping 40.9 degrees Celsius, while the day temperature was recorded at 39.4 degrees in the Safdarjung observatory.

However, good news awaited the residents of Delhi and the NCR region. A spell of dust storm and thunderstorm along with light rain occurred over Delhi and the NCR region during the early morning hours at around 5:00 AM. This thundercloud patch has moved away in the northeast direction towards Northwest Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Conditions are still favourable for another spell of dust storm and thunderstorm activities during late afternoon and evening hours. Thus, Delhi and adjoining areas of Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad are expected to witness partly cloudy sky along with isolated dust storm and thunderstorm.

These weather conditions will be attributed to an induced cyclonic circulation which is over Central Pakistan and adjoining areas. A trough is also extending from this weather system up to western parts of Uttar Pradesh.

These systems will cause some weather activity over Delhi and adjoining areas. A few drops of rains may also make an appearance over the national capital.

Due to these weather activities, there is expected to be a slight drop in the temperatures. However, this relief will be only marginal, and no long-term relief seems in the offing for Delhiites.
