Rajasthan has persistently experienced excess rainfall throughout the months of June and July. As of today, West Rajasthan stands at 117% excess rainfall, while East Rajasthan has received 37% excess Monsoon rains.
The low pressure area over Pakistan and adjoining West Rajasthan brought some good showers in Rajasthan on Friday. In the last 24 hours, Bikaner recorded 31.3 mm rainfall, Sri Ganganagar 14 mm and Jaipur 1.5 mm.
Monsoon forecast for Rajasthan
Multiple weather systems will continue to affect weather in Rajasthan. A fresh Western Disturbance over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir region, the low pressure area over West Rajasthan and the Monsoon trough running from this low pressure area will act in tandem to add onto the excess rainfall figures in the state.
As per Skymet Meteorology Division in India, conditions are conducive for the state to receive some more Monsoon rains for another 24 hours. Good rainfall activity will be witnessed in the northern parts of the state. However, flood-like situation may not arise as of now. With efforts from the rescue teams, working in tandem with local officials, the flood situation in southern parts of Rajasthan seems to be improving.
