Light rains have been going on in Coimbatore and adjoining areas of Tamil Nadu since the last four days. During the last 24 hours, the city has recorded only 7 mm of rain.
At present, major weather activities are going on along the West Coast, wherein heavy rains are lashing the state of Kerala. The state also falls on the windward side and hence observes enhanced rainfall activities.
On the other hand, the interior parts of Tamil Nadu including Coimbatore fall on the levered side and this the reason why rainfall activities remain on the lower side here.
According to our meteorologists, as the Monsoon surge has been activated along the West Coast including Kerala, its effect will be also seen over Coimbatore and adjoining area. And we expect light rains with one or two moderate spells to lash the city today as well as tomorrow. However, heavy showers may not appear anytime soon.
The intensity would be certainly more over the other areas of interior Tamil Nadu such as the Nilgiris and adjoining region.
Meanwhile, for the next two days, the sky would remain overcast and relief is also expected from hot and humid weather conditions.
