During last 3-4 days, few light showers were witnessed over few areas of Uttar Pradesh. In the last 48 hours, mainly foothills of the state have received light to moderate rainy spells.

For the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain has occurred over Central and East Uttar Pradesh and few ares of Bihar as well. For the time being, more rains are likely to continue over East Uttar Pradesh. Lucknow received 28 mm of rainfall whereas and Bahraich received 29 mm of rainfall.

The reason for this rainfall can be attributed to the wind confluence of Easterly and North-westerly winds’ amalgamation over the area leading to cloud develop and rainfall.

Particularly over East Uttar Pradesh, rain will continue with moderate to heavy intensity.

A cyclonic circulation is seen over West-central Bay of Bengal and another weather system is seen over Northeast Bay of Bengal. Due to these circulations easterly winds are reaching Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh which are moist in nature. And at present dry north-westerly winds are also going on over the area.

Due to this good rain is most likely to persist over East Uttar Pradesh for another 24 hours.
