At present one of the most deficit pockets in the eastern region are Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh. Bihar is deficient by 27 percent while East Uttar Pradesh is rain deficient by 31 percent.
However, rainfall is in the offing for both these areas. The Cyclonic Circulation over the Madhya Pradesh region will soon shift eastwards, thus East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar may see some good showers today and tomorrow.
Rains will reduce thereafter but light to moderate rains will continue over both the regions. While the Monsoon throughline will remain far to the south of this region, the proximity of circulation will give rains over these areas.
The Monsoon deficit, which continues to be high may reduce to some extent due to this rainy episode.
