On June 24, Monsoon covered most parts of Bihar and by June 25, it progressed rapidly covering most parts of India except West Rajasthan. But, many parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar witnessed light rain only even after the onset of Monsoon over the area.
However, during the last 48 hours, many areas of Jharkhand, Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh have been receiving good amounts of rain. At present, a low pressure area is prevailing over Bihar, Jharkhand, and adjoining West Bengal.
This system is expected to move towards East Uttar Pradesh and give good rain over Bihar, Central and East Uttar Pradesh for the next 2 days.
Also, by tomorrow evening a Western Disturbance will start affecting the hilly region of North India. Due to this, most areas in Uttar Pradesh will receive scattered light to moderate rain. Heavy rain is also expected at a few places.
Presently East Uttar Pradesh has rainfall deficit of 41%. But with this spell of rainfall in parts of the state, the deficiency is expected to improve further bringing a rise in the rainfall figures.
