East India weather has taken a pleasant turn during the past few days. A prolonged Pre-Monsoon rainy spell has affected the region, giving good rains over many parts.

In fact, areas including the foothill of Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh along with Bihar, Jharkhand and a few areas of Odisha and West Bengal have been observing good rains.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Bhagalpur recorded a whopping 41 mm of rain, followed by Keonjhargarh where 24 mm rainfall was received. Other areas to have received good showers include Gorakhpur 16 mm, Fursatganj 14 mm, Ranchi and Jamshedpur 12 mm each, Chandbali 11 mm, Bankura 4 mm, and Lucknow 5 mm rainfall.

These rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which is currently over West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand and Bihar. Also, a trough is extending across Odisha.

Now, during the next 24 hours rain will continue over East India. The intensity of rains will be on the higher side over the foothills of Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh.  In fact, some areas may record heavy rains as well. Good showers will also be observed over many areas of Jharkhand and West Bengal. On the other hand, Odisha will receive light showers.
