East and Northeast India witness light rain

Scattered to fairly widespread rain was recorded over several places of East and Northeast India on Saturday, with intensity varying from light to moderate.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, a cyclonic circulation prevailing over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining northeastern region is causing rain over both the regions.

As per the latest forecast by Skymet, scattered light rain along with thundershowers accompanied with squally winds will continue over northeastern states.

While in East India, system will cause isolated thunderstorms and thundershowers over West Bengal, parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and even extend up to Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

The rain activity is expected to reduce gradually during the next 24 hours as the system is likely become less marked.
In wake of the system, both the maximum and minimum temperatures have registered a drop.

Let us have a look at the rainfall figures in a span of last 24 hours till 8:30 am on Sunday across Northeast and East India.
