Earthquake jolts hill state of Sikkim

An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted the hill state of Sikkim today. The epicenter of the quake has been reported to be 16 km NW of Singtam- a town in the northeastern part of the state.

The impact of the quake was also felt up to neighbouring Darjeeling- in West Bengal. There haven’t been any reports of casualties so far.
