Dust storm, thunderstorm, light rain to make a comeback in Delhi, Chandigarh, Ambala, Moradabad, Alwar

The northwestern plains of the country which include Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan are reeling under extremely hot and uneasy weather conditions. In the last 24 hours, the temperatures also witnessed a rise. In fact, almost heatwave like conditions was observed in parts of Rajasthan.

Moreover, the temperatures are likely to rise further in most places over the northwestern plains today. The weather during the night is also likely to remain warm today. As per Skymet Weather, dust storm, rain, and thundershower activities are expected over North and West Punjab today during the late evening and night hours.

In fact, isolated activity is also likely few districts of Haryana and extreme North Rajasthan. With the flow of southwesterly winds, dust suspension will occur in Delhi and parts of Haryana today.

These pre-Monsoon activities are likely to intensify tomorrow over the northwest plains. Thus the day and night temperatures are likely to witness a fall over most parts of the region.

These activities would occur due to the approaching Western Disturbances which would induce a cyclonic circulation over Central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab. In fact, another circulation is likely over South of Delhi.

Places such as Saharanpur, Moradabad, Pillibhit, Nawanshahar, Roopnagar, Ludhiana, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Ambala, Panchkula, Alwar, Sri Ganganagar, Dausa, and Delhi are likely to witness pre-Monsoon activities. Relief from the hot weather is likely.
