North India all set to see another spell of dust storm, thunderstorm

April 9, 2019 5:27 PM | Skymet Weather Team

The Northern Plains saw some intense dust storm and thunderstorm activities during the last few days. However, weather has once again become dry.

It seems like the weather will not stay the same for long as a fresh Western Disturbance will approach Western Himalayas by tomorrow. The system will induce a Cyclonic Circulation over Northwest Rajasthan and adjoining areas.

Therefore, the combined effect of these systems will be felt over Northwest India including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and North Rajasthan. Parts of Central India which includes North Madhya Pradesh will also be affected.

Thus, dust storm, lightning strikes, thunderstorm activities along with thundershowers is expected over North Rajasthan. Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh will also see isolated weather activities. Weather will be more intense over North Rajasthan as compared to the rest of North India. These on and off weather activities are expected to occur on April 10 and 11.

By April 12, weather will clear up and dry weather will take over as both the systems will move away. While moisture will remain in the atmosphere, due to rains, temperatures will drop due to which heat factor will be absent for rains to occur again on and after April 12 despite moisture presence.

Another spell of dust storm and thundershowers are expected to occur around April 16. This spell will be much more intense than the present one.
