Cloudy weather in Delhi

Delhi and NCR have been experiencing pre-Monsoon activities in the form of dust storm and thunderstorms for the last many days. In fact, it seems that this year the month of May has brought a bunch of pre-Monsoon showers in its bucket for the national capital and its adjoining regions.

The appreciation for bringing in these dust storm and thundershowers over Delhi NCR can be given to the passage of successive Western Disturbances across the Western Himalayan region. In addition to this, their induced low also aided in giving these pre-Monsoon showers over Delhi and its surrounding Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad.

On the past day also, few isolated pockets of Delhi and NCR received some light thunderstorm and thundershower activities. However, as per their nature, their occurrence was during the late evening hours by which the maximums are already been peaked. Which is why the temperatures remained mainly unchanged and arrested above 40 degreed Celsius.

As per Skymet Weather, at present, the Western Disturbance as an upper air system lies over Jammu & Kashmir and adjoining Pakistan. Its induced cyclonic circulation also lies over North Rajasthan and adjoining Central Pakistan.

In the wake of this, isolated dust storm, thundershower activities with strong winds are expected to occur at a few parts of Delhi and NCR for the day. However, again these would be during the late afternoon or evening hours. Moreover, these would be in patchy locations.

Thereafter, the pre-Monsoon activity would reduce by tomorrow and once again dry weather would prevail. The north westerlies are likely to get replaced by warm easterlies which would trigger a rise in the maximums.

However, a slight drop in the morning temperatures in the next 24 hours can be anticipated but as the drop would not be significant, the temperatures would rise as the day progresses. The daytime high could reach to settle at 42-43 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the morning temperatures may range between 24 and 25 degrees Celsius.
