Dust storm, thunderstorm in Delhi likely todayDelhi weather has been playing enough games already as far as the temperatures and rainfall activities are concerned during the last week. Last Wednesday, some rainfall activity made an appearance along with dust storm and thunderstorm activities which not only gave residents relief from the prevailing heat but also gave them that pleasant rainy day they were waiting for.

In fact, on April 12, after the rains, temperatures dropped to quite an extent and settled at 33.4 degrees Celsius at the Safdarjung observatory and 34.2 degrees Celsius at Palam. However, since then, maximums have been witnessing a rising trend and an increase of about a degree or two has been seen each day.

Thus, yesterday, the maximum at Palam was recorded at a whopping 40 degrees Celsius while the Safdarjung observatory saw its day temperature at 38.6 degrees Celsius which happen to be 2-3 degrees above the normal levels.

Now, good news awaits the residents of the Delhi and the NCR region as some weather activity is expected today. Currently, a Western Disturbance is clearing away from the Jammu and Kashmir region while another can be seen over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. Along with this, its induced cyclonic circulation is seen over Haryana and adjoining areas.

While Delhi falls in the peripherals of the systems, it still does stand a chance of witnessing some thunderclouds along with dust storm, thunderstorm activity today. Squally winds may accompany the region along with these weather activities. Sky has already become cloudy over the national capital which will arrest the maximum temperatures over the region.
