As reiterated by Skymet, most parts of Delhi including the NCR region of Noida, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad observed severe dust storm and rainfall activity on Saturday. This came as a huge relief for the people experiencing hot weather conditions in the region.
The dust storm that took place around 3 pm had wind speed of 60 kmph, gusting up to 80 to 90 kmph. This reduced the visibility below 500 meters in the region for some time. Soon after good rainfall activity was observed in entire Delhi and NCR region.
This spell of rain brought down the temperatures in Delhi-NCR significantly. From 39°C at around 3 pm, the day temperature at the Palam Observatory in Delhi dropped to settle at 24°C at 4 pm, which is a drop of almost 15°C.
Delhiites can now look forward to a pleasant Saturday night. Also, a few more spells are likely on Sunday. In view of this weather, the day temperature is expected to remain comfortable at least for the next 24 hours.
Neighbouring states of Haryana and Punjab also received light to moderate rain. However, the rain belt will now shift towards West Uttar Pradesh and provide rain over the region.
