Delhi rains and dust storm are all set to make a comeback by Monday. But do not confuse these rains with Monsoon rains. According to weathermen at Skymet Weather, these rains would be pre-Monsoon activities which would be triggered due to arrival of a fresh Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir and a cyclonic circulation over Northwest Madhya Pradesh.
In presence of these systems, wind pattern has already changed over Delhi and adjoining areas of Noida, Faridabad, and Gurugram.
Besides this, humid winds have been blowing from eastern parts of the country as Monsoon 2019 has already reached there up till East Uttar Pradesh.
All these systems would situation favourable for dust storm and thundershowers along with light rains over Delhi NCR on June 24 and 25.
These rain and thundershowers would also result in drop in maximum temperatures by 2-3 degrees. However, any relief is not expected as increased humidity would lead uncomfortable weather conditions. Especially, afternoons would be hot and sultry during the next 2-3 days.
Monsoon in Delhi
After June 27, weather in Delhi would once again become dry and hot and temperatures would increase. As per weathermen, Delhi would have to wait for at least 14 days for Monsoon to arrive in Delhi.
Normal onset date of Monsoon in Delhi is June 29. However, due to sluggish progress of Monsoon 2019, Delhi would have to wait till July and we expect Delhi Monsoon to make an arrival between July 7-10.
