From torrential rains in the northeast that had swamped the roads to hot and dry weather that has become common in Maharashtra, the notorious Indian weather has different shades to portray.

In fact, dust storms have also become pretty common in the states like Rajasthan also engulfing Delhi. Now also, few more instances of sandstorms are expected to lash Rajasthan almost anytime soon.

As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is over South Pakistan and Rajasthan. Moreover, moist southwesterly winds are also prevailing over the region. The combination of both these weather systems may result in dust storms that may occur towards early afternoon today in West and adjoining Northwest Rajasthan.

Along with dust storms and sand storms, rain and thundershowers are also chances. In fact, some light rainy spells made their appearance over a few districts of Rajasthan yesterday as well. In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Thursday, Bikaner and Churu observed 3 mm of rains each. Pilani also observed a few rainy traces in the last 24 hours.

The reason for the showers and dust storms that occurred yesterday can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which was over Central Pakistan and adjoining regions. Moreover, the Western Disturbance was also over East Jammu and Kashmir. In the wake of these weather system, dust storms accompanied with rains occurred over these districts of Rajasthan.

While the temperatures have already subsided in these regions, hence, not much fall is expected. Though the best part is the maximums will also not mount much as well. As these activities generally take place during the afternoon or late evening hours, temperatures by that time have already peaked by that time. Hence not much scaling up is expected.

In general, dust storms or sandstorms occurs due to the strong winds passing over the loosely soil or sand. As these winds are strong in nature, they pick up the sand particles thereby leading the visibility across the region to drop. Rajasthan being a desert state is more frequent to witness the dust storms or sandstorms. These sandstorms are also a threat to property and human life.
