Dust storm and thunderstorm in Delhi to bring slight relief

Rainy days ahead for Delhi NCR, scorching heat to take a backseat

Delhi weather has remained hot for quite some time now. Mercury levels have been high with residents complaining of the constant hot weather conditions coming their way. Afternoons have become so hot that it is nightmarish even to step out for a stroll after lunch.

As far as the maximum temperatures are concerned, they settled at 41.2 degrees Celsius yesterday for the Palam observatory which is a notch above the normal levels, the minimum temperature today was recorded at 27.2 degrees Celsius which is three degrees above normal.

The Safdarjung observatory saw the maximum temperature at 39.6 degrees which is again a degree above the normal levels. Here, the minimum temperature settled even higher today at 27.6 degrees which is four notches above the normal levels.

Yesterday, during the morning hours, isolated pockets of Delhi and the NCR region recorded light rainfall, but they were not even recorded over any of the observatories and had no effect on the temperature profile.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, Delhi will observe dust storm and short spell of thundershowers in few parts of the city for short duration. These activities are likely to continue on May 2 and May 3 which may bring a brief respite from the ongoing weather conditions.
