As predicted by Skymet, during the last 24 hours, fairly widespread pre-Monsoon weather activities in the form of dust storm, rain and thundershowers occurred over most parts of Rajasthan, particularly northern, central and eastern parts of the state.

Meanwhile, southwestern parts of Rajasthan such as Barmer, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer remained almost dry during this period. Due to the formation of convective clouds, hailstorm activity also occurred in places like Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh and its nearby areas.

During this time of the pre-Monsoon season, whenever convective clouds attain a height of 10 km or more, they are capable of giving hailstorm activity, which was the scenario over Northwest Rajasthan.

Talking about the temperatures, due to prolonged spell of weather activities, temperatures over entire Rajasthan have dropped significantly. In fact, day temperatures over most places are settling below normal.

Now we expect on and off pre-Monsoon weather activities such as dust storm, thunderstorm, hailstorm, rain and thundershowers to continue mainly during late afternoon or evening hours for the coming two to three days over most parts of Rajasthan. Temperatures will also remain below normal.

This is the first time in this season that Rajasthan has witnessed such prolonged and widespread spell of weather activities. For the coming one week or so heat wave will not return to trouble the people of Rajasthan as temperatures will remain near normal.
