TheWestern Disturbanceover North Pakistan and its adjoining region has induced a cyclonic circulation over central parts of Pakistan. In the next 24 hours, this cyclonic circulation is likely to move towardsNorthwest Rajasthanand adjoining Haryana and Punjab.
Therefore, we expect isolated dust storm followed by spells of light rain and thundershower activity to commence over few parts of Punjab and Haryana today.
By tomorrow i.e. May 10, the intensity and spread of these weather activities will increase marginally and cover some more parts of both these states. Further by May 11, fairly widespread pre-Monsoon weather activities in the form of dust storm followed by rain and thundershowers will occur over Punjab and Haryana.
As the weather systems will be very strong in nature, their effect over Punjab and Haryana will keep on increasing day by day. In fact, on May 13 and 14, few intense heavy spells may also occur over both these states.
Thus, we can say that the northwestern states of Punjab and Haryana are all set to experience first prolonged and widespread rainy spell of this pre-Monsoon season. The weather activities will mostly take place during late afternoon or evening hours.
