Skymet for the last few days has been reiterating about chances of rain and dust storm in Delhi. Since May 9 the weather in North and Northwest India has taken a turn but the weather has evaded Delhi and its adjoining areas so far in terms of rain or thundershower.
However, in the next 2-3 hours sporadic rain and thundershower along with dust storm will be observed in Delhi and its adjoining areas.
In fact dust storm activity in some parts of the National Capital Region has already begun.
This weather activity is due to successive Western Disturbances across Jammu and Kashmir, which has induced a Cyclonic Circulation in Rajasthan. This Cyclonic Circulation in return is leading to dust storm activity in Delhi-NCR.
Winds from the Arabian Sea are also feeding moisture to the region, thus aiding in the weather activity.
According to meteorologists at Skymet, the weather activity in terms of pre-Monsoon rain and thundershower will be sporadic and light with one or two places observing decent rain in next 2-3 hours.
This activity is definitely going to pull down the temperatures in the region, particularly the maximums.
