The last many weekends were mostly rainy and snowy for the hills of North India. The tourist destinations of Gulmarg and Pahalgam did receive some precipitation on account of frequent Western Disturbances. However, the weather systems were mainly feeble which brought only light rains. This weekend will, however, remain dry over the Northern hills.

As of now, the present Western Disturbance has moved quite far away northwards and will bring some precipitation, if at all, only over the higher reaches. Entire North India will mostly have dry weather conditions with westerly winds blowing over the region for the next about 6 days.

We will now see a rising trend in temperatures in the plains as well as the northern hills including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In the hills, temperatures are all about normal at present. Places like Banihal, Batote and Bhaderwah are all witnessing maximums in mid-twenties. Most of the other places like Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Jammu are also having day temperatures near normal levels.

North India will not experience any significant weather activity in terms of precipitation till about next week. Therefore, temperatures will rise over the hills with afternoon hours being a little uncomfortable.
