September 18, 2022 5:43 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Delhi has not witnessed enough rain during the Monsoon 2022. As of now, Delhi is rain deficient by 38% followed by Punjab which is deficient by 21%. While Haryana is in the normal rain category, but it has also received 17% less rainfall than normal.

The week ahead will have almost dry and sunny weather conditions across these states. In the absence of any weather system, the weather will remain dry. Winds will be blowing from the west and northwest direction which may reduce the humidity.

Dry and sunny weather may increase the maximum temperature to some extent but as the humidity levels are expected to reduce therefore discomfort level may also reduce to some extent. Normal date of withdrawal of monsoon from the western parts of Rajasthan is September 17.

This year, we expect a delay of at least one week in the Monsoon withdrawal. There may be isolated thundery activities or light rain over parts of Delhi and East Haryana around September 25th or 26th. Thereafter, Monsoon will start withdrawing and by the end of September monsoon may withdraw from Delhi as well.
