The confluence zone which formed over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh gave scattered light rain over the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh. In fact, isolated places in central Madhya Pradesh also received one or two spells.

In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Monday, Mandla recorded light rain to the tune of 1 mm. In the same time frame, Bhopal also witnessed rain traces.

While the intensity of rain was light to very light, these showers were capable of dropping the day temperatures. The day temperatures settled around higher 30s around March 1 and 2 but as on March 5, the maximum settled in lower 30s to mid-30s.

As per Skymet Weather, the confluence zone has moved away and we expect the weather to become dry. Therefore, the maximums are likely to rise marginally during the next two days.

However, a trough is expected to develop around March 8 over Madhya Pradesh. In wake of this weather system, we expect cloud cover to increase over the northern half of the state leading to scattered light rains during that time.

Places such as Umaria, Satna, Sagar, Shivpuri, and Damodh are anticipated to witness rain between March 8 and 10. Meanwhile, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Indore, and Gwalior will remain dry.

These on and off rains are expected to continue until March 10. These rains will be patchy in nature. In fact, we expect the day temperatures to drop by 2°C to 3°C during that time. Along with the rain, moderate winds will also be witnessed. Moreover, isolated pockets may receive very light hailstorm activity also.
