Since last two to three days, rain and thundershower activities have been lashing parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Central and East parts of Uttar Pradesh have received scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers.
Hailstorm activity has also been reported in some parts. Though these ongoing rains have not damaged the Rabi crop, but the hailstorms over the region might have impacted the crop.
The weather over Bihar has almost remained dry until March 9. From the afternoon of March 10, rain and thundershowers with squally winds were witnessed over many parts of Central and East Bihar.
The reason for these rain and thundershowers over both the states can be attributed to a trough. This system is extending from Haryana to West Bengal across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
However, as per Skymet Weather, this weather system has now become insignificant. Though another feeble trough is seen over Bihar and Jharkhand, but now dry weather conditions are likely to commence over Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, northeastern districts of Bihar like Araria, Supaul and Kishangarh are likely to see scattered rains for next 24 hours. Thereafter, the weather will go dry over entire Bihar. The temperatures are then expected to witness a gradual upward trend.
